LOS ANGELES – PZC is pleased to introduce Acting Board Chair, Daniel Bral, to the PZC community. Daniel previously served on PZC’s advisory board, and volunteered much time to projects ranging from ADEM outreach to strategy, events, and community building.
“We are thrilled with the energy Daniel brings to this position, and are looking forward to seeing his vision for the work PZC does come to fruition. We have long said that young and diverse communities are the key to building a movement for the future: things Daniel represents,” said Executive Director Susan George.
“It’s been a privilege to help build PZC from a ragtag group of grassroots activists to a collaborative 501(c)4 that leads the conversation on what progressive Zionism is in California,” outgoing Chair Rachel Bracker said. “I look forward to seeing how Daniel takes our organization to the next level. “
“From the moment I caught wind of PZC and its mission, I knew that there was something special about its work and the people that I wanted to be a part of,” said Daniel Bral. “I’m thrilled to serve in this capacity as Board Chair, and champion a nuanced, empathetic progressive Zionist vision.”
About Daniel:
Daniel Bral is a first-generation Jewish Iranian American human rights attorney and writer. He received his bachelor’s degree from UCLA and his J.D. from Loyola Law School, where, as Executive Editor of Loyola’s International and Comparative Law Review, he published an article analyzing Israel’s “Nation-State Law.” Daniel is currently an attorney at the Center for Human Rights and Constitutional Law. He previously served as the campaign manager for Rob Wilcox, worked for Los Angeles City Attorney Mike Feuer, and for Mayor Garcetti as a member of his homelessness policy team where he drafted the Right to Counsel motion and helped open a “Bridge Home” shelter that now houses over forty women and children. He has been deeply engaged in Jewish and nuanced Israel advocacy as an advisory board member of Progressive Zionists of California and a 2021 Charles Bronfman IPF Atid Convener. Daniel served as a California Democratic Party Delegate for AD 50, appointed by Assemblymember Bloom.
